Chicago - The Windy City
Trip Itinerary
Day 1-4
Chicago
The Windy City, once home to gangster Al Capone, still provides endless excitement. By day, Chicago’s high rising architecture and the world’s tallest building provide a perfect backdrop for this financial center. At night, the city is transformed by jazz clubs, lounges and excellent theaters. Shop famous Michigan Avenue or visit some of the finest museums in the country. Although in the eyes of some Chicago evokes the image of an industrial giant, it is a city where the arts flourish. Chicago residents are proud of their world-famous symphony orchestra, which Igor Stravinsky declared second to none; their Lyric Opera; and their award-winning classical music station, WFMT. Since 1912, Chicago has been the home of Poetry Magazine. Moreover, Chicago’s theater community is vibrant, with more than 100 off-Loop theaters presenting quality drama. The collections at the Art Institute, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Terra Museum of American Art and the many galleries along Michigan Avenue and the River North area are among the best in the country.
